Sophie and Paul and their magical winter wedding at Crockwell Farm

Crockwell farm wedding photography in winter can be as magical as any other wedding in the middle of the summer.

Crockwell farm is often described as an Idyllic Rural Wedding Venue in Northamptonshire. This country side rural wedding venue is a family-run business which was established in 2002.

Although Crockwell farm is situated in Northamptonshire it sit strategicaly right on the boundaries of Oxfordshire and Warwickshire.

If it comes to versatility, there is not many wedding venues out there which can beat Crockwell farm. Brides and grooms can get married within the site, once again there are plenty of options accommodating any size of weddings up to 200 guests.

Three ways to get married at Crockwell Farm

It music to ears of some that Crockwell farm now also offers an outdoor ceremony in their “Orchard Pavilion”, of Course if the British unpredictable weather is not permitting an outdoor wedding, there is also rustic VAULTED BARN which is suitable for up to 86 guest. If you want to go big indoors, The Main Marquee is just perfect for any weddings up to 200 wedding guest.

Dedicated Dance-floor at Crockwell Farm Weddings

Most of the wedding venues have to change over the ceremony room to accommodate the dance floor. This is not the case at Crockwell farm. Wedding party is really spoiled  with all the available space, most of the guests during the day don’t even know that behind the large curtain is Crockwell farm dedicated dancefloor.

If it comes to wedding photography at Crockwell Farm, there is ample various places to use for creating those striking wedding photos.

Best Places for Wedding photos at Crockwell Farm

It the winter most of the couples don’t want to go too far into the fields surrounding this wedding venue. Luckily there is loads to work with even without getting out of the main carpark.

The main entry offer lovely rustic/ architectural backdrop, Fairy lights all around the carpark looks always magical but the main star of the show must be “The Tree” everyone is talking about. The tree covered in festoon lights which gives every wedding photographer plenty of options to express their creativity. Check out my Wedding photography portfolio HERE.

Crockwell farm – Perfect match for Sophie and Paul’s dream wedding

Sophie and Paul had to postpone their summer wedding due to Covid madness and eventually decided to go for a cosy Christmassy feel kind of wedding.

I have to say as much as I love shooting summer weddings due to long days, winter weddings are becoming my favourite too. Wedding beyond October time make me really push myself creatively to the limits. As I love to use my flashes to create those striking edgy images I like I don’t have to wait till late hours when it’s dark.

Sophie and Paul’s wedding at Crockwell farm started as it should with loads of excitement building, both Paul and Sophie with their bridal party were getting ready at Crockwell Farm ( two separate buildings) which is another advantage of this wedding venue. It makes wedding photography much easier when all the party’s are within the same place. My favourite photos from the wedding morning are from  “the boys bow tie challenge” and Sophie’s reveal to her bridesmaids and her dad which really got me, and everyone else quite emotional.

The wedding ceremony at the main marquee was absolutely beautiful, again I always love the dynamics of walking down the aisle…I like this part as it is so upredictable. Emotions, gestures, looks, touches … so much is happening and needed to be captured in those photographs.

Confetti shots were total crazy, it must off been the biggest real petal confetti I’ve seen and the wedding guest had indeed a lot of fun with them.

The mingle time during the wedding drinks reception is the part where the bride and groom get to enjoy their wedding guest, their hugs, kisses and congratulations with some delish canapes and glass of drink in-between.

Half way through the wedding drink reception is normally the best time to do some family group photographs. As it was almost freezing outside with a harsh sunlight which would make everybody squint we’ve decided to take advantage of the vaulted ceiling barn which made the perfect backdrop for those wedding photographs.

Off course once those were done, it was the time to take the bride and groom out for a short walk to get some freshly married couple’s portraits. Considering it was raining all morning we were so lucky to have some sun in the afternoon which made all the difference.

Once we’ve returned inside everyone was ready to greet the newly weds into the wedding reception room for their wedding breakfast.

After that it goes very quickly. Speeches, drinks, mingling, and before the bride and groom know they are cutting their wedding cake followed by the first dance.

I especially enjoy taking photos of the party pictures. That’s where the real action starts and the wedding party gets to express them selves.

Just before I’ve started to pack up my photography equipment there was one last thing to capture, Sophie’s dance with her dad! What an amazing way to finish my photography
