Shustoke Barn, one of the most amazing Barn Wedding Venues in Warwickshire
Shustoke Barn an 18th-century red-brick barn, surrounded by a courtyard full of olive trees
Charlotte and Daniel’s wedding at Shustoke Barn in Warwickshire goes back to 2018. This was my first wedding at Shustoke Barn so I have walked into the wedding with no expectation or any specific plans. As soon as I’ve arrived at Shustoke Barn it was love at first sight. The 18th-century Shustoke red-brick barn is set in the middle of the Warwickshire countryside in the middle of vast fields. The main Shustoke barn where the wedding ceremony and wedding reception take place is definitely a big show-stopper. Rustic Shustoke barn has a very unique oak structure and extra high arch ceilings. The Shustoke barn courtyard is equally beautiful and one of its kind as it is full of olive trees which gives this Barn wedding venue almost some sort of Mediterranean feel.
The wedding was simply beautiful from start to finish. I loved the rustic feel of Charlotte and Dan’s wedding with loads of greenery everywhere. Although the unpredictable weather wasn’t very kind and the day was full of intermittent showers we definitely managed to make the most of all the gorgeous outdoor spaces which Shustoke Barn offers. It was really nice to complete the wedding day with a few intimate portraits under the fairy festoon lights which were lit all around the car park in front of the Shustoke Barn.
Shustoke Barn | The Story of Charlotte and Daniel
Why have you chosen Shustoke Barn to be your wedding venue?
We chose Shustoke Barn as we wanted a venue with character, I wanted a rustic theme daniel likes modern so the barn fitted in perfectly as they have some Modern features also.
Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why?
We were 16 when we met & 17 when we started dating. we met through mutual friends, My sister was actually dating one of Daniels best man at the time so we all use to ‘hang’ out and Daniel use to hold really good house parties 🥳
When did you know he/she was the one?
We met and dated very young, I studied away in Derby at uni, Daniel focussed on his career between the ages of 18-21 we was always on and off but we were like magnets, we would always be drawn back to one another.
Deep down I always knew Daniel was the one we just met at the wrong time.
I believe if something is meant to be then it will happen.
I was Daniel’s, first proper love.
Tell us about the proposal.
He pretended he had won afternoon tea and a night overstay at this posh hotel called the Edgbaston in Birmingham at a raffle at work.
I was excited and had no idea as I thought the standard afternoon tea was free, I went with the most expensive add on!
All I remember he was insistent that we went back to the room to look at it.
We went up there and I saw all these petals on the bed I was about to say this hotel is ‘a bit too much’ then Daniel got on one knee.
We were both very nervous, daniel opened up the box upside down, I said yes, we popped open some champagne and toasted as we both didn’t know what to do.
Before this, though we had previously gone and looked at some rings I liked. I thought he would have proposed on my birthday which was February instead he did it 4dec 2016.
Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
We love that we are both considerate to one another needs
We work as a team!
Daniel is very generous and loving and Charlotte is very caring and nurturing.
What inspired your décor or theme?
We love Greenery and rustic tones.
What was the best part of your wedding
Walking down the aisle 100%
What’s one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?
That on the day those tiny things I worried about doesn’t matter
Could you give 1 or 2 most important pieces of advice for all the couples who are planning their wedding?
Don’t worry about what others say or who you have and have not invited, it’s your day and you do what you want.
The most expensive isn’t always the best!
Also to this day people still talk about the cigar bar (homemade) and the magician – having something after the meal and waiting for guests is a good shout!
Also to save money I didn’t have a starter I had canapés instead. Really invest in your photographer and videographer- they are they lasting memories
What was the most important factor in choosing your wedding photographer and why have you chosen Latzo?
I like Latzo style of photography, I found him as a fellow photographer recommended him to us who did the same sort of style as he was already booked.
I’m so glad he was as Latzo made me and Daniel feel so comfortable and relaxed – this is something you need when they are with you all day.
Latzo really worked well with our videographers
