The Best of LATZO Photography in 2020 !!

This won’t be by any means my normal “THE BEST OF” post, but hey..

let’s be honest, nothing about 2020 was really normal.

I should have had wedding photography images gathered from at least 38 weddings, but unfortunately in 2020, I shot only 3 full and one micro wedding in the whole year!!

It’s been an extraordinary year for all of us and there’s no doubt that most people all over the world have been affected in some way by the global pandemic. At one point during the first lockdown, I came to the realization that most of the things which were causing me enormous stress and anxiety are out of my control. I had to officially step back from the news and social media and focus on what was most important at the time – the wellbeing of my Family. We locked ourselves in our home and tried to ignore all the news for the sake of our sanity really.

On one side, this year was disastrous in so many ways, and I feel for all the people who were badly affected by the virus. On the other side, it gave us a chance to slow down a bit to make us realize that nothing is permanent and we shouldn’t take anything in our lives for granted.

To be a wedding photographer is arguably one of the most amazing jobs ever. To provide couples with precious everlasting memories from one of the biggest days in their lives is certainly one of the most rewarding feelings. Unfortunately, there are a few drawbacks too ss most couples planning to get married during the summer months, I barely get to spend much time with my daughters between May-September. Working 12+ hours every day there is just not enough time in our days during the main season.

2020 was a constant rollercoaster of emotions, we had many good days, but there were bad days too. The most important was to keep our living as normal as possible..mainly for our girls. One of the biggest challenges was certainly the homeschooling, after the few most stressful weeks I’ve admitted I’m not a very capable teacher and decided to take a more laid back approach aka went into a survival mode. So there were loads of long breaks and craziness in between the lessons. The kids were happy and I was getting my sanity back.

We have been super lucky that my mum came from Slovakia to see us, originally for two weeks, in March but became almost 3 months as she couldn’t get back home due to boarders closures. What a great opportunity for us, but mainly our girls to have almost 3 months of undivided attention from their dearest “Starka”(grandma’)

We celebrated Our 10th Wedding anniversary by renewing our wedding vows in our garden wedding.

We celebrated all the birthday’s, apart from mine, in lockdown.

We conquered our first Peak in the Peak District – not the most successful trip 🙂

We even managed to get away for a last-minute holiday abroad during those few weeks when we were allowed to travel.

As all of my work had been canceled I decide to take advantage of having all the free time and off we went to see our Slovakian relatives. for the very first time ever in the middle of the summer season !!)

It was an immense relief when kids went back to school in September, the first signs of the return of normality. We all thought we can see the end of the tunnel at that point, and here we are again..the national lockdown no.3. Let’s hope it’s the last one and things will only get better from this point.!!

The Best of Northamptonshire Wedding Photography 2019

Here are the best photos from my Northamptonshire, UK, and worldwide Weddings

As a Northamptonshire wedding photographer, I release the best of my favourite photos captured all over the UK and some from my destination weddings too.

With the highest number of weddings in my photography calendar, I pushed the boundaries of my photography creativity right to the maximum.

Within a year I visited some of the most wonderful wedding venues within Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. As I’m conveniently located in Kettering, Northamptonshire I consider all those weddings as my local, because I never need to travel more than an hour to meet my brides and grooms.

I’ve been also super privileged to shoot weddings at more distant wedding venues such as Storrs Hall on the shores of awesome lake Windemere in Lake District,

Beautiful Chiswick House and gardens In London, Tunnels Beaches in faraway Devon and finally exotic destination wedding at Costa Calero in Lanzarote which had finished my wedding photography season very nicely.

To select 180 wedding photos which represents a year of a creative wedding photographer have taken much longer I have anticipated.

As soon as I started to dig into my 2019 photography galleries, I realised it wouldn’t be as easy as I thought.

Every single wedding I’ve photographed was unique and to select my favourites images I had to go through all the wedding images from my Northamptonshire weddings as well as all the other beautiful weddings.( over 29 000 in total !!! )

It has been truly joyful to go down the memory lane and see all my gorgeous brides and grooms having the best time of their lives, celebrating their marriage with their families and friends. When I was starting my wedding photography carrier, I was mainly taking photos at one or two of my local Northamptonshire wedding venues. I just couldn’t believe how my portfolio expanded over the years. I can honestly say that there are not many wedding venues in Northampton are which I haven’t photographed. Barton Hall in Kettering is definitelly my most photographed, and my favourite place to shoot my weddings.

Choosing my favourite photos was probably harder than having a full day of capturing wedding pictures. I didn’t want to rush, instead, I slowed down and really reminded my self, how special job of a wedding photographer really is.

I feel truly grateful I was chosen by all of my wonderful couples to capture their big day!

I photograph my weddings in the most natural, documentary way. I won’t stop my brides and grooms from enjoying their big day unless they want me to take some casual photos with their wedding guests.

Barton Hall is definitely one of the most amazing wedding venues to photograph.A Grade 2 listed building surrounded by picturesque gardens offering spacious grounds for wedding parties of all sizes. The main focal point and the reason why most of the engaged couples fall in love with Barton Hall is the famous grade 1 listed Orangery which is really one of a kind. If you’ve seen any wedding photos from Barton Hall there is a very high chance it would have the beautiful Orangery in the background.

Why does the weather not matter for Wedding Photography at Barton Hall?

No matter the season or the weather, Barton Hall’s Orangery offers the most beautiful location for a wedding ceremony. Come rain or shine Barton Hall always feels bright and airy which is a blessing when our unpredictable crazy English weather often gives us four seasons in one day. My future brides and grooms quite often worry about their wedding photos if it’s raining. If that’s the case the orangery offers a dry place to mingle and enjoy the drinks reception and canapes as well as beautiful bright place for all those family group photographs. My photography style doesn’t limit me to shoot only in dry weather conditions, in fact I love creating some epic pictures in the rain and snow using it to my advantage.

I’m constantly exploring new spots for the best wedding photos at Barton Hall

I’m really grateful to be Barton Hall’s recommended photographer and has captured more than 50 weddings since they’ve opened in 2014 I know Barton Hall like the back of my hand. It would be just so easy for me to fall into the routine and repeat the same shots over again. But I always challenge myself to create something unique for every couple. To capture at least a couple of unique creative wedding portraits which hasn’t been captured by me or any other wedding photographers before. Perhaps that’s why I remain so passionate about this venue. My wedding photography takes me far and wide within the UK and abroad but I am always happy and excited to return to Barton Hall and work with the friendly staff that is as passionate about the venue as I am.

What is the style of my wedding photography?

The majority of my wedding photos are captured in a documentary style. Snapping all those special moments as they happen without the bride and groom or any other wedding guests even notice. I use this documentary or photojournalistic approach in my wedding photography for at least 90% of the day. The rest of the time I work really hard to create those creative dramatic wedding photos. To save time I tend to set up all my camera flashes beforehand usually during the wedding breakfast or just before the evening guest arrives. Once everything is set up, I just ask the bride and groom to grab their drinks to have some time on their own whilst I’m creating some creative wedding photography.

My wedding photography style craves for all those real moments created organically by brides and grooms and their guests. During the day it’s more on the emotional note, mingling, hugging, kissing. As a wedding photographer I am always looking forward to the evening when everyone seems to be more relaxed after a few drinks. The evening is normally kicked off by the first dance which is the last formality of the wedding day. After that I’m ready for all those action shots on the dance floor, it’s time to capture the “party animal” side of things.
