Dodmoor House wedding photography is breathtaking in every season, and Tom and Anne’s winter wedding at Dodmoor House was one of my absolute favorites. They chose this stunning Northamptonshire wedding venue for their special day in mid-November, creating a cozy and romantic atmosphere.

As soon as I met Tom and Anne for their pre-wedding photoshoot, I knew their Dodmoor House wedding would be filled with fun and laughter. Having worked at this stunning Northamptonshire wedding venue many times before, I was excited to see familiar faces and capture another beautiful love story.

With my experience at Dodmoor House, I knew the best locations for breathtaking wedding photos. The ceremony was set for 2:30 PM, but with Anne running 20 minutes late, we had only an hour of natural light left after the service. We made every moment count, capturing dramatic portraits as the sun set, making the most of the golden-hour glow and even embracing the near darkness for some truly magical shots.

Although it has a close and intimate feel, it also offers plenty of natural daylight—something quite rare in converted barn wedding venues. Another invaluable feature, especially for out-of-season weddings, is the underfloor heating beneath the flagstones, keeping the entire room warm and cozy regardless of the weather outside.

If you’re planning a summer wedding at Dodmoor House, the five glass double doors open onto the patio, allowing a refreshing breeze to flow in. The Courtyard Barn truly offers the perfect setting for weddings in every season.

In case of wet weather, the Courtyard Barn can be quickly transformed into a sheltered drinks reception area. After the wedding breakfast at Catesby Barn, guests can enjoy a coffee or tea break before the evening celebrations kick off with the first dance.

The Grade II listed barn can seat up to 100 guests for a wedding breakfast and accommodate up to 180 guests for evening celebrations.

The Catesby Barn at Dodmoor House is a double-height barn connected to the Courtyard Barn, primarily used for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. With oak flooring, solid wood exposed beams, and a Juliet balcony, it adds a true wow factor to this stunning venue.

But there’s more! The barn is linked to the Mezzanine Bar on the first floor, creating a flexible party space. This allows guests to move between different but connected areas—dancing, sitting, chatting, and mingling—through either the balcony or the courtyard. As expected, this space comes to life during the evening reception, making it one of the liveliest spots at Dodmoor House.

Start your day stepping into the luxurious Honeymoon Suite. This is your private space for the day, with a contemporary four-poster bed, wooden ceiling beams and a seating area.

Dodford Room is connected to the Honeymoon Suite so that it acts as the perfect dressing room for you and your wedding party if you are getting ready at Dodmoor House.

It also offers a private room for one of you to meet the registrar privately before walking across the courtyard for your wedding ceremony.

1) Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why?

Randomly in Cape Town, I was over from Ireland for one of my closest friends wedding and Tom was visiting his parents from the UK

2) Tell us about the proposal.

Completely unexpected- we were visiting Toms parents over Christmas and he proposed at the 12 apostles camps bay on Christmas Day. Saying yes was the easiest and best decision I ever made (once I realised he wasn’t joking). It was perfect.
3) Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

Can’t pick just one – His positivity and determination, how there is no such thing as ‘I can’t’ but above all else how he can always, always, always make me laugh. The year we married was extremely tough for my family but Tom was and is my rock and makes me feel like together we can get through anything

4) If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

His terrible Irish accent – it normally starts like Brad Pitt’s character in Snatch and then turns a bit Jamaican (I definitely don’t sound like that)!

5) What inspired your décor or theme?

We didn’t really have a theme, people kept asking me what our colour scheme / theme was but we honestly didn’t have one. We just know what we like so made decisions based on that and then luckily it all just fell into place. I guess it was kind of rustic and romantic!

6) What was the best part of your wedding?

Having everyone we care about most in the world in one place. To know and feel that they had all made the effort to be there that day, just for us was amazing. Very overwhelming to be honest!

7) Could you give 1 or 2 most important pieces of advice for all the couples who are planning their wedding?

Go with your gut instinct and do what you both want to do- it’s your day. Try not to get caught up with what you should or shouldn’t do, have or not have on the day. We were lucky I guess in that neither of us were ‘bridezillas’ and what was most important to us about the day was that we were getting married and that everyone would have a relaxed and fun day. Even if you are organised, the days before can be a bit crazy with last minute bits and pieces to sort, so on the day forget it all- don’t worry about anyone or anything else! Just focus on why you’re there and that is to exchange your vows and start the rest your lives together not all the other ‘stuff’ !! The day literally flies by so just enjoy it- at that point you’ve done all the organising you can so what will be will be, give up control, just go with the flow and have fun!  We were lucky with our venue Dodmoor House as they assign each couple a wedding co-ordinator, I can honestly say Carolyn who was assigned to us was AMAZING, she knew what we wanted or needed even before we did and guided us seamlessly through the day. We can honestly say everything was just how we imagined if not better and there is nothing we would change! Everyone we chose did a wonderful job, honestly could not recommend all our choices highly enough- we were very lucky!!

8) What was the most important factor in choosing your wedding photographer and why have you chosen Latzo?

Find someone you are comfortable with- it is such an emotional and personal day you need to feel relaxed with your photographer. Having contacted a few photographers, Latzo was the only one who immediately stood out- he wanted to meet and have a chat and get to know us as a couple before we even booked him! He was just such easy company, funny and friendly immediately we thought this is who we want for our small family wedding! He just has a way about him that puts you at ease (and all of your guests), you genuinely forget he’s there and honestly everyone loved him at our wedding. I cannot imagine having had anyone else there with us on the day he’s so uber talented and really went above and beyond what you would expect from your photographer. And that is because he genuinely cares! We just loved our photos- they just capture the special moments and emotion so perfectly- I look at them and feel exactly how I felt at that time. It takes a really special talent to be able to do that and that is exactly what Latzo is! All I can say is that you would be lucky if you have Latzo as your photographer on your big day. With all the decisions you need to make for your wedding this one is easy – and one you won’t regret

Sikh wedding Wicksteed Park – Jassi and Brad

I am so happy I was hired as a wedding photographer for Jassi and Brad’s Sikh wedding. Brad and Jassi wanted me to capture more natural candid images to get the feel of their big day. There are few wedding venues in Northamptonshire which can accommodate 600+ wedding guests. Wicksteed park pavilion is one of those places with a huge capacity and versatility and is surrounded by beautiful parks and gardens. I really loved all the traditions flowing throughout the whole wedding day, the vibrant colours and dynamic sounds. Once the bhangra music started playing during the wedding reception it was almost impossible not to dance, so I did 😉 Here is a short sneak peek slideshow I created. The background music is a song that was played many times during the wedding reception which I just can’t get out of my head 😉

Staunton Harold Hall wedding photography

Tanya and Leigh’s Wedding Flying High over Staunton Harold Hall, a wedding venue in Leicestershire

The Couple: Tanya and Leigh (and their lovely mothers!) came across my stand at the National Wedding Show. I was so happy to hear how much they loved my documentary photography style, and how my photographs captured more intimate and personal moments, rather than lots of posed shots; they said they had been searching the show for someone like me all day, what a compliment! When the couple began talking, I knew their wedding would be something special, and I was instantly excited to hear about their plans to hold a summer garden wedding – in their own garden! Aside from falling in love with each other, Tanya and Leigh had also discovered their shared love of gardening and wanted to tie the knot under a beautiful old English rose arch at the bottom of their garden. However, halfway through wedding planning, they called to tell me that there had been a ‘plot twist’! Construction work near to the house and an ever-growing guest list meant that they were moving their wedding to the stately Staunton Harold Hall in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire. Not a problem! If you need to make any changes in your plans (and many couples do) just give me a call and we will work around whatever we need to in advance. The couple’s friend and the florist didn’t give up on their garden dream and used so many details to ‘bring the garden’ to Staunton, from herbs in flower arrangements and plant plot place settings to a beautiful, bespoke rose arch in the ceremony room. One of my favourite details was the family’s four pairs of wellies filled with flowers at the top of the aisle.

The Venue: Staunton Harold was the first place that Leigh took Tanya on a ‘proper date’ – Leigh tells me that on that sunny afternoon, they watched as a couple had their wedding photographs taken on the lawn as music played, and he was already thinking about marrying her! Since that day, they have spent many happy family times in Staunton’s grounds, and I can see why; the beautiful Georgian mansion overlooks a wide, tree-lined lake set within 2,000 acres of green parkland, and has the little gem of a 17th-century church nestled right in the centre. Those 2,000 acres would come in handy later on when Tanya and Leigh told me of another ‘plot twist’ – Tanya’s dad (a professional pilot, fondly known by the family as ‘The Captain’) would be flying his daughter and her bridal party in by helicopter, and landing right on Hall’s lawn!

The Photography: One of the greatest photography challenges of Tanya and Leigh’s day was making sure that I was there to capture key moments happening at split locations, but this is easily managed with experience and expert planning. Tanya’s bridal preparations took place at the beautiful Breedon Hall in the morning, and I arrived early to capture the bridal party buzz! After Tanya’s departure, I made a well-timed dash to Staunton Harold to capture guests arriving and having drinks with the groom. Shortly after, I expectantly awaited The Captain’s landing, knowing that it was a surprise to all the guests; when the helicopter began to chop the air above the hall, guests filled up the windows to watch – what an entrance!

The day was filled with such intense emotions of love, heartwarming energy, fun, and laughter. When the couple gave very personal gifts to friends and family to thank them for being ‘their army’, I had never seen so many people in happy tears in one room.

Tanya and Leigh continued their love of plot twists and surprises well into the evening, with helicopter rides for their guests, an amazing fireworks display over the lake, and a secretly rehearsed first dance with their own version of a ‘Dirty Dancing’ lift! I spent 12 hours capturing Tanya and Leigh’s special day (I don’t limit my time when I can see that there are great wedding memories to be captured) and the fact that I was smiling all the way home tells you just how much I loved this wedding.

Glamorous 1920s Gatsby Wedding at the Mount Hotel in Wolverhampton.

I had the pleasure of first meeting Sally and Dean at the National Wedding Show in Birmingham. When I began chatting with the couple, it was clear that they had such a calm and relaxed approach to their wedding, but this didn’t hold them back in their shared passion for creating a 1920s glamour theme! Sally and Dean were a wonderful and inspiring couple to know and work with and, after months of planning, I felt so privileged to see their theme brought to life with such spectacular styling; their guests couldn’t help but relax right into their vibrant, vintage party! Sally and Dean chose the grandeur of the Mount Hotel’s stately manor in Wolverhampton as the perfect venue to showcase their 1920s Gatsby wedding style in all its glitz and glory. As my first wedding here I had done my research, but I can honestly say that the pictures I saw on internet just did not do it justice; the hotel’s four acres of immaculate parklands transported the couple and their guests to an idyllic countryside haven, despite being only minutes from Wolverhampton city! I was particularly wowed by ‘The Grand Hall’ library which has been beautifully maintained from its 19^th century beginnings, and I loved capturing its romantic, renaissance style as the backdrop to so many of Sally and Dean’s photographs.

The venue also provided a wedding manager and toastmaster who organised every detail on the day, from directing guests to communicating with caterers and suppliers as they arrived. As a photographer and guest at so many weddings, I have really noticed the benefit of having someone on hand to organise these things on the day, meaning that you as a couple can really relax and enjoy every moment. I also can’t go without mentioning the hotel’s locally sourced, 28 day aged steak which literally melts in your mouth…try and resist putting this on your wedding breakfast menu!

For Sally and Dean’s photography I wanted to capture the true sparkle of their theme which was perfectly offset within the venue. As with most period buildings, light can be limited due to features such as small inset windows or stained glass, posing the challenge of balancing light in dark rooms without over exposure – of course, this is a challenge that can be skillfully overcome with an experienced photographer and the right equipment! As the night progressed, I was also able to capture an amazing ‘dance-off’ between the couple’s guests and used radio-triggered external flashes in the room to control the balance of light whilst also capturing dancing couples with dramatic action shots! I also used this technique to create some beautiful sunset shots of Sally and Dean in the manor’s stunning gardens.

Beautiful wedding at Barton Hall

From the moment that I met Katy and Lee, their love for each other and sense of fun was so apparent – even before I learned that they had a dedicated GIN Bar in their home! Katy and Lee created their dream of a wonderful and relaxed June wedding, with all of the classic hallmarks of an English summer garden party, including their shared love of gin! One thing that other brides and grooms may be interested to know is the couple’s decision to make their wedding an ‘adult only’ event. After mulling over concerns that friends and family may be upset, the couple tell me of their surprise that so many of their guests confessed how much they had enjoyed a little child-free time to celebrate with them on the day.

Katy and Lee’s wedding was held at The Orangery at Barton Hall Hotel in Kettering, Northamptonshire. The Orangery is a Grade II listed building that provided an amazing backdrop for the day. As the venue’s recommended photographer, I attend more than 15 weddings here each year and what I love most about this venue is the variety that it provides; the incredible domed ceiling of the Orangery, the atmospheric Charles Suite and Barton Hall’s extensive grounds mean that I have endless possibilities to capture unique photographs throughout the day. I always set myself the challenge of finding new angles and interesting shots that I haven’t discovered before!

Katy and Lee were keen to spend as much time with their guests as possible but, like most couples, also felt that capturing the bride and groom portraits were important to them. We waited until after the wedding breakfast and the speeches to steal a few moments for these intimate portraits in the picturesque gardens at sunset. This time really suited the couple as they could relax and enjoy a quiet moment together, knowing that their guests would be enjoying drinks and mingling with each other without missing them for too long! With the dimmed light at sunset, I was also able to create some very dramatic and intimate portraits for the couple.

From a photography perspective, the Orangery’s stunning domed roof also floods natural light into the ceremony room regardless of the weather or the time of year. When choosing your venue, I would recommend somewhere that allows natural light in for part of your day as it helps to create the most natural documentary photography, particularly for summer weddings. I only use flash photography when I really need to or when I am looking to create more drama in the shot.

Tell us how you first met?

Lee: I spotted Kate at the school I was working at. She was there on a training placement and I walked past her a few times and thought how pretty she was. I was hanging around the staff room and basically doing anything I could to chat to her. I even asked a friend who went on a meal with her to find out everything about her so I could talk to her. Then one day she was brought to the PE office and introduced to me formally and I was told that Kate would be joining us full time. I was so happy to hear this I ran to my next lesson outside singing!

Katy: He came in about four times for coffee and I just remember thinking that it takes a brave man to wear a bright pink top!

When did you know he/she was the one?

Lee: In 2015, we moved in together in the February but I was leaving in the July to go to Borneo for a month. While I was out there I missed her so much and I remember saying then I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her and that I needed to marry her. I wrote a huge love letter while I was there and posted it but the bloody letter never arrived!

Katy: The month we spent apart when he went to Borneo made me realise how miserable I was without him and I knew I couldn’t bear to be apart from him again.

Tell us about the proposal?

Lee: The proposal was a scary one because firstly I had to hide the ring in my hand luggage all the way to Thailand and then I had to keep it hidden until we got down to Railay, which is an area in the south of Thailand that is just paradise. On our first night there I was sneaking about and hiding the ring but I eventually got down on one knee at the restaurant that was on the beach and asked if she would be my wife and agree to marrying me. It took a while to get a response due to shock but we got there in the end!

Katy: I was speechless and he had to actually say ‘so what do you reckon then’. I, of course said yes and was so overwhelmed, shocked but super happy!

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other?

Lee: Kate is honestly my best friend. We do everything together and I find it hard to imagine how I ever had fun before her. Kate is outrageously understanding and caring and will do all she can to make sure you’re happy, so her empathy is a huge reason why I love her so much.

Katy: I love Lee’s kind heart. He always puts others first and can always turn a bad day into a good one.

What was the best part of your wedding?

Lee: The atmosphere. We knew we had great people joining us as our guests and we worked hard to ensure we were working with great people on the day too. As a result of all of this, there was a genuine sense of people having fun, and their sincerity and kindness just completely overwhelmed us.

Katy: Having all of our close friends and family in one place having a great time was the best part.

What would be your most important advice for couples planning their wedding?

When planning your timings for the day, pencil in a section of time to just stand and grab a drink with your guests. We had moments but it is so tough to get around to that many people.
Do the hard work early. When you get nearer to your big day this will give you an opportunity to relax more at a time when you will naturally be more worried.
Make sure you are working with people that you can trust. We wanted to make sure that anyone we were working with would take charge in seconds if anything went wrong.
Constantly remember that you are only doing this process once, so enjoy every second of it. From the engagement to the last dance of the night I can honestly say it has been the best experience of my life.

Somerford Hall gorgeous midlands wedding venue and Big Italian wedding of Cal and Cherry

My first wedding at Somerford Hall and what an experience! This was my second Italian wedding for the Iacono family so I sort of knew what to expect. After being a part of Cal’s brother’s wedding in 2015 I almost felt like a part of the family. That was my first Italian wedding and I was completely blown away. Cherry and Cal’s wedding ceremony took place in the same church as his brothers. Having previously met Cal’s family I had to admit walking into the same church with the same wedding party felt almost like a deja-vu at times. I felt really honoured to be a part of yet another special day in this family.

Despite the rainy morning the day started in an amazingly relaxed glamorous style. When Cherry started to walk the aisle the whole church got lost in complete silence and Cal’s facial expression was just priceless. By the time the service has finished the rain had completely stopped and never started again. From that point on it was just a big magnificent celebration. The venue was just perfect for this wedding – elegant, majestic but still pretty intimate, picturesque rooms and gardens, great service and every corner decorated to perfection. I couldn’t believe that Cherry’s mum was hand making all the decorations for the wedding by her self and was working on them almost entire year. Alfresco outdoor party with an authentic Italian singer was also one of its kind.

What can I say : Enzo is the last son in Iacono family and I really hope I will have the pleasure to complete the Trilogy of Iacono Weddings.

Beautiful Nottinghamshire Wedding at Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club with Oli and Kayleigh

Full of Emotions, beautiful people and amazing autumn colours.

That was exactly what was this extraordinary wedding about, right in the heart of Nottinghamshire at Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club.

From the first moment I’ve met Kayleigh and Oliver I knew their wedding will be a great fun. There is just some sort of special energy effortlessly flowing between those two.

Despite the late autumn chill I was so pleased we managed to sneak out for a few images in Nottinghamshire Golf and Country club grounds.

I have to highlight a few things which I have seen on this wedding for a very first time : A table plan made of Ciroc Vodka bottles, a wedding cake made of jager bombs !

A sax player which was making me feel at times I am at caffee Mambo in Ibiza rather than a wedding.

The day finished with a great firework display which has ended up the official part of the day.
